PREPARATION AND COOKING TIME:
YIELD:

  • Remove skins and partly crush:
    • 1/2 cup raw peanuts;
    • 1/4 cup cashews;
    • 1/4 cup pecans;
  • Stir and roast on medium heat for 3-4 minutes in 4 oz (1/4 stick) butter;
  • Add and stir constantly:
    • 1 cup white sugar;
    • 1/4 cup seasame seed or finely grated coconut;
    • 1/4 tsp salt;
    • 1/8 tsp citric acid;
  • As soon as the sugar has melted add 1/8 cup currants;
  • Spread thinly onto a buttered pan;
  • Break into small pices to serve.
